  • Hamza Waheed

    President and Co-Founder

    Hamza Waheed founded our organization with a mission to provide free rides for cancer patients to and from chemotherapy and radiation appointments. Currently, Hamza Waheed is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and is on the pre-medicine track at the University of Texas at Dallas.

    In addition to his academic pursuits, Hamza Waheed is a driven researcher and has two upcoming publications in the prestigious CHEST journal. Furthermore, he founded and led the "Eco-Friendly Project" at Zaina Foundation.

  • Zaina Waheed

    Vice President and Co-Founder

    Zaina Waheed is a co-founder of our organization and has played an instrumental role in our mission to provide free rides for cancer patients to and from chemotherapy and radiation appointments. Currently, she is attending Brighter Horizons Academy and is excelling on the AP track.

    Outside of academics, Zaina is a compassionate leader and the president and founder of the nonprofit organization ‘Her Future,’ which seeks to empower and uplift impoverished girls through outreach initiatives.

  • Dr. Shariq Khwaja, MD

    Board Member

    Dr. Shariq Khwaja, MD practices radiation oncology at Memorial Hermann hospital. He earned his MD and PhD at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, through the Mayo Clinic Medical Scientist Training Program. After his internship in internal medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital/The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, he went on to complete his radiation oncology residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

    Dr. Khwaja has received multiple awards for his research, and he is the coauthor of articles published in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology and Physics, and Cancer Medicine, among other journals.

  • Dr. Nayyar Syed, MD

    Board Member

    Dr. Nayyar Syed, MD is a Medical Oncologist with Texas Oncology and has over 30 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Syed has extensive experience in Skeletal System Neoplasms, Lymphatic System Disorders, and Blood Disorders.

    He graduated from University of Karachi/DOW Medical College in 1993. He is affiliated with medical facilities such as Texas Oncology Mount Pleasant Hospital, Christus Mother Frances Hospital, Winnsboro and Paris Regional Medical Center.
