Road to Remission - Patient Ride Service Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Road to Remission! We are committed to providing free, safe, and reliable transportation for patients undergoing cancer treatment. By registering for our service, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Eligibility Requirements

Road to Remission services are available to cancer patients actively undergoing treatment in need of transport. Verification of medical appointments may be required.

Patients must reside within our designated service areas and provide valid contact information to facilitate scheduling.

Road to Remission reserves the right to assess patients' financial need based on reasonable indicators. If it is determined that a patient can afford or has access to transportation services independently and does not have a demonstrated financial need, we may decline the request for free transportation.

2. Registration and Scheduling

All rides must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance through our designated registration platform or contact number.

Road to Remission reserves the right to limit ride availability based on driver schedules and route feasibility.

3. Liability Disclaimer

Road to Remission is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization facilitating rides through Uber. We are not liable for any incidents, injuries, accidents, or emergencies that may occur during transit or as a result of using our services.

By using our service, patients accept full responsibility for any risks associated with the transportation provided. This includes, but is not limited to, physical injuries, medical emergencies, delays, missed appointments, and loss of personal items.

Road to Remission is also not liable for any actions, behavior, or conduct of Uber drivers, including but not limited to, service delays, failure to arrive, or any behavior deemed inappropriate or unacceptable by the patient. Uber drivers operate independently, and all liability for ride services rests solely with Uber.

4. Uber Partnership

Road to Remission arranges transportation through Uber, and patients must agree to Uber's terms and conditions, which apply to all rides scheduled through their platform. By using our service, patients also agree to comply with Uber’s policies, including safety standards and conduct expectations.

Any issues with Uber’s services, including delays, driver availability, or service quality, are outside of Road to Remission’s control. We are not responsible if the Uber driver does not arrive on time, fails to show up, or if the ride does not meet patient expectations.

5. Code of Conduct

Patients and accompanying caregivers (if permitted) must conduct themselves respectfully toward drivers.

Any disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in immediate termination of services and future eligibility restrictions.

6. Medical Needs During Transport

Drivers are not authorized to provide medical assistance. Patients must ensure they have any necessary medical items or medications with them before departure.

Road to Remission is not liable for any medical conditions or emergencies that may arise during the ride, nor for the consequences of any delay in receiving medical assistance while using our service.

7. Privacy and Data Collection

All patient information collected during registration and scheduling will be handled in accordance with Road to Remission’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

Information provided will solely be used to facilitate ride scheduling and maintain patient safety.

8. Disclaimer of Service

Road to Remission is a volunteer-based organization and provides transport services as availability permits. We cannot guarantee ride availability for all requested times and dates.

Services may be modified, limited, or discontinued at any time at the discretion of Road to Remission. We reserve the right to decline services at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to scheduling conflicts, resource limitations, and assessments of financial need.

9. No Guarantee of Service

Road to Remission strives to support patients in need, but we do not guarantee that any particular ride request will be accommodated. Services are provided on an as-available basis only.
