Road to Remission was founded by two siblings, Hamza and Zaina Waheed, who were inspired by their mother's battle with breast cancer. Watching their mother navigate her cancer journey and the challenges she faced along the way was a sobering experience. Through connecting with different people, they realized that many cancer patients, especially those who are low-income or elderly, struggle to find reliable transportation to their medical appointments. Without access to transportation, patients may miss their appointments or have a hard time working them around their schedule, leading to delayed or missed treatments and additional stress.

The siblings searched for ways to help cancer patients in need of rides and quickly discovered that this was a significant and widespread issue. It was then that Hamza and Zaina realized that they had found their calling: to create an organization that could help cancer patients in need of rides.

Together, they founded this organization, Road to Remission, with the mission of providing free rides to and from chemotherapy and radiation appointments for cancer patients who otherwise might not have access to transportation. They knew that many cancer patients struggle with the financial burdens of cancer treatment, and the last thing they should have to worry about is how to get to their appointments. Providing free transportation to these appointments not only helps cancer patients get the treatment they need but also reduces the stress and anxiety associated with navigating the healthcare system.

Since our inception, we have been dedicated to serving our community and helping those who are in need of transportation to medical appointments. With the help of our team, we are in the process of providing countless free rides to cancer patients throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Our organization is driven by our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those who are fighting cancer. We believe that no one should have to face cancer alone or without the proper support, and we are honored to be able to provide transportation to those in need. We are grateful to be able to help patients receive the care they need with compassion and empathy, and we look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients in our community.
